This news follows headlines about Rajpal Yadav’s legal issues, and now reports claim that Ameesha is facing fresh legal trouble related to a 2017 event dispute. According to sources, a Moradabad court has issued a non-bailable warrant against her in connection with a case from that year.

Addressing the rumours, Ameesha Patel clarified that the cheque bounce case is an old and already-resolved matter. She asserted that her legal team will soon initiate criminal proceedings for cheating against Pawan Verma, the complainant. In her Instagram Stories, she stated, “Media reports suggest proceedings at Moradabad by Pawan Verma. I want to clarify that this is an old matter from years ago, in which the said Pawan Verma signed a settlement deed and received the full amount agreed upon.”

What Did The Court Instruct Ameesha?
The legal case against Ameesha came to light after a Moradabad court took notice of a complaint related to a 2017 wedding event booking. It was reported that she was summoned due to her absence from a scheduled hearing. This led to the court issuing a non-bailable warrant on Monday. She has been instructed to appear before the court on March 27.
About Ameesha Patel’s Case
The case originates from a complaint by event organiser Pawan Verma. He claimed Ameesha was booked to perform at a wedding on November 16, 2017. Verma alleged that an advance of Rs 14.50 lakh was paid, and arrangements were made for her accommodation at a hotel on Delhi Road in Moradabad. However, she did not attend the event. Verma further claimed that after discussions, Ameesha promised to return the full amount, but the issue remains unresolved.
Earlier in 2023, Ameesha surrendered before the Ranchi Civil Court in connection with a cheque bounce case from 2018. ANI reported that she was in Ranchi to attend a program at Harmu Ground. She discussed film financing with businessman Ajay Kumar Singh of Lovely World Entertainment. Since the film they financed was not released, Singh demanded his money back. Ameesha returned Rs 2.50 crore via cheque, but it bounced. In November 2021, she was again in the headlines for a cheque bounce. And, this time for Rs 32.25 lakh to UTF Telefilms.
Ameesha’s Career Update
Ameesha made a notable comeback to the big screen after a five-year hiatus with Gadar 2 in 2023, alongside Sunny Deol and Utkarsh Sharma. The film was a huge success, earning Rs 686 crore worldwide. Her last appearance was in the 2024 film Tauba Tera Jalwa. It was a romantic comedy directed by Akashaditya Lama and produced by Naresh Bansal and Madanlal Khurana. The film, also starring Jatin Khurana and Angela Krislinzki, received negative reviews from critics, but Ameesha’s performance was appreciated. She has yet to announce her next project.
