Late Filmmaker Bharathiraja Will Receive State Honours

In recognition of his extraordinary contribution to Indian cinema, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Vijay announced that the State government would bestow state honours at Bharathiraja’s funeral. The Tamil Film Active Producers Association (TFAPA), co-founded by Bharathiraja in 2020, also appealed to the government for official recognition.

TFAPA highlighted his six National Film Awards, numerous state honours, and the Padma Shri, praising his leadership and unwavering dedication to the welfare of producers, artists, and Tamil cinema’s growth. Under his guidance, TFAPA grew to represent over 400 active producers, cementing his legacy as a guiding force in the industry.
