Mighty Ducks actor Shaun Weiss is hoping to help former Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide star Tylor Chase.

“I have received many messages about Tylor Chase. I reached out to some friends of mine, and we have a bed for him … and we have a place for him to go … thanks to my buddy Mike Jordan at Eleven 11 Recovery,” Weiss, 47, said in a video posted via Instagram on Monday, December 22. “All we need to do is find him. I’m not in Los Angeles or I would go look for him myself.”

After receiving a tip that Chase, 36, could be unhoused in Riverside, California, Weiss asked that if anybody can get a face-to-face with the former child star, “Please DM me so we can get him some help in time for the holiday.”

While the Riverside Police Department did not know how long Chase has been experiencing homelessness, they confirmed to Us Weekly on Tuesday, December 23, that “officers assigned to our Public Safety Engagement Team have regular contact with him, at least once a week, and consistently offer a range of resources, including assistance with temporary shelter options. Throughout these interactions, he has been cordial and cooperative with our officers.”

Recently, a heartbreaking video surfaced on social media of Chase without a home at an undisclosed location.

The footage grabbed the attention of many fans, including fellow Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide actor Devon Werkheiser.

“Tylor was a sensitive, sweet and kind kid. It is heartbreaking to see him this way,” Werkheiser, 34, told TMZ in an interview published on Monday. “I haven’t seen Tylor in almost 20 years since the show ended. Anyone who has dealt with severe addiction and deep mental health issues knows it’s an unbelievably challenging situation if they don’t want help. It’s an everyday uphill battle to course correct. It requires a ton of support and patience and time.”

Chase played middle school student Martin Qwerly on Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide throughout the Nickelodeon show’s three-season run between 2004 and 2007.

His other acting credits include an appearance on Everybody Hates Chris and a role in the 2007 indie film Good Time Max with James Franco.

“My only hope is that from this exposure, someone with real understanding and resources can step in, get Tylor into treatment, and help him get back on track,” Werkheiser shared. “We all want a happy ending.”

In a separate post, comedian Loni Love also shared her hopes that Chase gets the help he deserves.

“I worked with Tylor on Ned’s decades ago,” she wrote via Instagram on Monday. “He was a bright child and it’s heartbreaking to see him in this state. Thank you @shaunweiss and crew for offering help to Tylor… will keep folks posted on finding him. It may be hard to convince him to get help, but we can only hope.”

As fans wait for good news, Shipwreck Barbershop owner Jacob Harris — who is based in the Riverside area — posted that he saw Chase and offered him some reasons.

“Found him. Sat with him for an hour while his father and multiple costars called him on my phone,” Harris claimed via Instagram on Monday. “They explained their love for him and how much they want/need him to agree to getting help. He’s now in contact with all the right people to get him the help he needs. He has a hotel room tonight to give him time to make the decision on his own.”
