The Beauty of Spring and Our Life on the Farm 🌿
The beauty of spring is endless. On our slow life journey in the countryside, our daily routines are shaped by the seasons. At this time of year, the ducklings hatch, the first storms roll in, filling the bright blue creeks, and everything around us grows so abundantly.
We are sisters — Julia and Anastasia — and together we care for a regenerative farm on Bundjalung Country, along the East Coast of Australia. Our dream is to live a self-sustainable life and regenerate the land so it can thrive for generations to come. Through farming, gardening, and caring for animals, we are learning every day how to live in harmony with nature.
Living With the Seasons 🌱
Life here is guided by the rhythms of the natural world. From swimming with the ducklings to planting new trees, every season brings fresh routines and gentle lessons. This spring, joy has come not only from the land but also from welcoming a new family member — our puppy Clover.
Honouring the Land 🙏
We live and farm on the land of the Arakwal and Minjungbal people of the Bundjalung Nation. The practices of regenerative living, permaculture, and sustainable agriculture that we embrace are rooted in Indigenous knowledge. For thousands of years, Indigenous Peoples across the world have cared for the land in ways that inspire us today. We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of this Country, recognise their deep connection to land and water, and thank them for protecting this rainforest and its ecosystems since time immemorial.
A Life of Simplicity and Care 🐥
From building a new duck pen to watching the first green shoots rise after the rain, each step we take brings us closer to our dream of creating a thriving, regenerative future. It’s a slow, simple life — but one filled with beauty, purpose, and joy.
Music & Inspiration 🎶
Our days are accompanied by the beautiful sounds of Georgina Grimshaw, with songs like Nothing To Hide, I Remember, Greenlight, and Old Friend from her EP Aster Amellus.
